For Kellie Pickler, the “beet” goes on as the charming singer lends her unmistakable voice to a new movie in the popular VeggieTales series, Beauty and the Beet, set to premiere exclusively on DVD, Oct. 14.

Kellie voices the character of Mirabelle, the sweet-potato lead singer of a family band that overcomes its share of challenges.

The movie features the loveable VeggieTales cast in a twist on the classic Beauty and the Beast fairy tale.

Kellie performs seven original songs in the movie, which will be included on a companion CD that also features Kellie’s rendition of the Christmas standard “Deck the Halls.”

The holiday album will be released to coincide with the DVD.
