Keith Urban Debuts New Tune

It would be exciting enough for Keith Urban to just release new music.

But with brand-new single “Little Bit of Everything,” which hit radio today, Keith is also premiering it on national television during this Thursday's season finale of American Idol.

“‘Little Bit of Everything’ conveys a sentiment that’s always felt right to me," Keith says in describing the song. "I connected with that from the first time I heard it. I ‘felt it’ and I loved it.”

The song, written by Brett and Brad Warren with Kevin Rudolf and co-produced by Keith and Nathan Chapman (Taylor Swift), is the first from his forthcoming album and will be available on iTunes at midnight.

After the American Idol finale, Keith will return to the studio to finish his album before hitting the road on his Light the Fuse Tour on July 18.

When Keith spoke with Country Weekly at last month’s We're All for the Hall benefit in Nashville, he said the album was still a work in progress.

“It’s coming along. It’s a process, because I’m trying different people and trying different things. A lot of it comes right back to where it started,” he said of working with an assortment of producers. “There [are] certainly some things that are different from what I’ve done before, but I think with my voice, and the way I play guitar and the fact that I am very involved in production anyway, [there's] a good strong through-line.”

Look for more on Keith in the May 27 issue of Country Weekly, on stands May 20.
