Apparently, the real drama is happening behind the camera on the set of American Idol.

Unfortunately, Keith Urban got caught in the crossfire when fellow judges Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey—who sit on either side of him—began to verbally duke it out at the Charlotte, N.C., auditions. In video obtained by tmz.com—with much of the language bleeped out—Keith throws his hands up but remains passive while the two women argue.

It's difficult to understand exactly what is being said, but according to TMZ, "Mariah repeatedly berated her until Nicki finally had enough and exploded."

Meanwhile, calm Keith quietly sipped his Coke. We just hope he was prepared to duck.
