You know how music nerds are around one another, right? Always talking about their latest find and trying to introduce each other to cool tunes.

Well, turns out Keith Urban and Eric Church are those guys, and now they've collaborated on the song "Raise 'Em Up," which appears on Keith's new album, Fuse.

"[He's] a guy who I've become mates with over the last couple years," says Keith of Eric. "We text each other relentlessly about music we should be listening to. He's always got great taste in music. It'll be something quirky, eclectic."

Keith is always ready with some counter-suggestion that he thinks Eric will enjoy. "I'll text him back: 'You gotta go check out "Bankrupt" by Dr. Hook because that was a big, influential record for me,'" he says. "'You'd probably like that.'"

Keith had been looking for a track to record with Eric, and came across "Raise 'Em Up." There was also one of those only-in-Nashville twists to the tune. "I sent it to him," Keith recalls, "and the coolest thing was I found out that the writers basically were hoping that if I didn't cut the song, the next guy they wanted to cut the song was Eric. They're like, 'Either one, we're good.' So they were thrilled that both of us turned up on it."
