Keith’s First Tattoo Represents American Freedom

He got an eagle on his right shoulder blade when he was 24.

How much does Aussie Keith Urban love America?

Enough that Keith—for his 24th birthday—decided to salute his new country of choice with a sizable tattoo of an eagle over his right shoulder blade.

I got an eagle because I was in America,” the singer reveals in an interview his folks posted online yesterday (Sept. 8). "I had just been spending time here, I was single and I thought, 'Gosh, it's my birthday, I want to give myself a cool gift.' I thought the eagle just seemed perfect.

“It was American, I had my freedom, and it was something that would be on this journey with me for my whole life.”
