KEITH: NO CROSSOVER PLANS

Keith Urban maintains that he has no desire to cross over into rock, in a recent interview on billboard.com.

Though Keith has attained something approaching rock star status with his incredible guitar playing and charisma, he says, “I’m very respectful of the country genre.” Keith also went on to explain that his albums do not consist entirely of country songs. “I just want to make an album of my music,” he says in the interview, conducted prior to entering a treatment center for alcohol problems in October. “The basis of what I do is definitely country. If these songs work on other formats, then that’s great, but it’s not my priority.”
