Keith, Nicole Have Worldwide Appeal—Even Among Kuwaitis

And when throwing a Kuwait-America Foundation gala, why not have Wonder Woman sing a few numbers?

You mix a Hollywood star and country giant, and you're bound to get some exotic and unusual dinner invitations.

The most recent for Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman was the Kuwait-America Foundation gala Sunday night (March 11) in Washington. Nicole was getting a humanitarian award for her work with the United Nation's UN Women.

The couple received high marks from the crowd—and from The Washington Post.

"It’s one thing for a Hollywood couple to act lovely-dovey on the red carpet, another to see them together when they think no one is watching," the newspaper wrote.

"By that standard, it looks like the six-year marriage of Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman and country star Keith Urban is a happy one. . . . Urban was the one who had everyone uttering the word, 'adorable': A head shorter, cute as a button and chatty with everyone who aproached. 'They are a fabulous couple—gracious, understated,' said Rima Al-Sabah, wife of the Kuwaiti ambassador."

Another interesting note from that dinner: actress Lynda Carter (Wonder Woman) sang some songs for the crowd.

Keith tapped his foot, saying later he enjoyed her performance: “Where else would you get to hear Wonder Woman sing?”
