Keith Loved the Opry Invitation, but, Well, Uh . . .

“All I’m thinking is, like, 'Now? Not now! Merle Haggard is waiting in the wings! This is, like, so badly timed.'”

Yes, Keith Urban is so happy to be a member of the Grand Ole Opry, and yes, Keith loved that he was asked to join in the middle of his We're All for the Hall fundraiser concert back in April.

But . . .

"The funny part about that was they did it right before Merle Haggard was gonna come on. This is, like, Merle Haggard, ya know?" Keith said in a Yahoo video posted Wednesday (Aug. 15).

"All I'm thinking is, like, 'Now? Not now! Merle Haggard is waiting in the wings! This is, like, so badly timed.'

"It was the most conflicted emotions I've ever had in my life—this incredible gratitude and this incredible want to bring [Merle] on. It was beautiful."
