Keith Urban credits wife Nicole Kidman for the decision to record the song “Stupid Boy” for his upcoming new CD, Love, Pain & the whole crazy thing.

The song was written by newcomer Sarah Buxton and appears on her self-titled debut CD. Keith discovered the song on Sarah’s album but says that Nicole convinced him to include it on his CD. “I heard it on my tour bus,” Keith tells Neil Haislop’s Nashville IQ, “and I sat there listening to it and I found myself thinking, ‘God, I wish I could find a song like this.’ And I took it home and played it for Nic, and she said, ‘You need to record that song.’ I just assumed that since it was on Sarah’s record, that wasn’t possible.” Not only was it possible, but reportedly, Keith now has the first right to release it as a single. Keith’s Love, Pain & the whole crazy thing hits stores Nov. 7.
