Keifer Thompson Is Chairman of the Beard for No Shave November

“I’m actually not sure if I’m honored to be the scraggly face of this thing or not,” he jokes about the fundraiser.

Here’s a fundraiser that’ll grow on ya. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is again hosting its No Shave November beard-growing contest, and Keifer Thompson of Thompson Square is the honorary chair.

Well, actually, Keifer is the Chairman of the Beard.

“This has to be the most absurdly wonderful recognition I’ve received to date,” Keifer said in a statement, noting participants should be proud to raise money to help kids.

“At the same time, for all of us to have done it by spending a month as a sloth is pretty ridiculous. I’m actually not sure if I’m honored to be the scraggly face of this thing or not.”

Participants pay $30 to enter and then post a pic of themselves clean shaven Nov. 1 on the fundraiser Facebook page.

Then, here are the instructions for participants for November:

  • Do not shave.
  • Continue not shaving.
  • Still no.

On Nov. 26, participants post another pic of their bearded selves, and a panel of judges gives out a variety of awards that are, well, a big hairy deal. (Sorry, we couldn’t help it.)

The men of Country Weekly will also be participating in No Shave November as Team Country Weekly. We’ll keep you updated on their progress through out the month. Stay tuned!
