Katie Couric Wrangles Stars for Pre-CMA Awards Special

Luke Bryan, Martina McBride and Jason Aldean get a closer look in the prime-time feature.

You know how Barbara Walters lines up huge Hollywood stars and makes them cry during an interview special that airs right before the Academy Awards?

That's what Good Morning America co-host Robin Roberts usually does for country music just prior to the Country Music Association Awards.

However, Robin recently underwent a bone-marrow transplant to treat a serious illness, prompting newswoman Katie Couric—who is also ABC's new daytime talk show star—to fill in.

And like Robin, Katie has landed some serious country firepower for the ABC special, All Access Nashville.

Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert and Reba McEntire will be featured on the hourlong show, set to air at 9 p.m. ET on Oct. 26.

Luke Bryan, Martina McBride and Jason Aldean will also be in the mix.

No word yet on who might tear up.
