Kanye West Interrupts Taylor Swift at 2009 MTV Music Video Awards

Kanye thought Beyoncé should have won.

Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards in New York, Sept. 13, was interrupted by rapper Kanye West, who delivered an onstage outburst in favor of pop singer Beyonce. Taylor had received the award for Best Female Video for “You Belong to Me,” and was giving her acceptance speech when Kanye West jumped on to the stage and announced, “Taylor, I’m really happy for you, and I’m gonna let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time.” Taylor did not finish her acceptance speech but received a round of applause from the crowd.

Kanye did apologize afterward on his blog but since then his blog has gone blank.

Beyonce asks Taylor back out onto the stage later in the awards show:

Taylor’s response to the event:

Proud of Taylor? Impressed with Beyoncé?
