“I would take Female Vocalist if they would give it to me. I don't care,” he said.

If Justin Moore wins ACM New Artist of the Year on Sunday night (April 6), you just might see some tears.

After all, Justin says the nomination alone—his very first for any major award—got him choked up.

“I think I always downplayed what it meant to me because we've been doing this for so long and it had never come our way,” Justin told reporters recently, “and when my manager called me and told me I got pretty emotional, you know?

“I kind of thought back to the times where I made a pallet on the floor with my mom and dad—not to be cheesy—and watched the ACM Awards. It was one of the big nights of the year for us and so it's so exciting!”

So you can imagine how excited Justin is to be in Las Vegas Sunday, April 6, when the show airs live at 8 p.m. ET.

“I would take Female Vocalist if they would give it to me. I don't care,” he said. “It's just awesome to be recognized.”
