Justin Moore, Brantley, Hunter Go Online to Ask for Votes

Justin has the most colorful way to ask his fans to make him this year's ACM New Artist of the Year.

The Academy of Country Music has opened public voting for its New Artist trophy, and the artists themselves are getting into the act.

The semifinalists are Brantley Gilbert, Hunter Hayes, JT Hodges, Scotty McCreery, Justin Moore, David Nail, Jerrod Niemann and Thompson Square.

Some are going a more humble route to ask for votes.

Hunter Hayes, for instance, tweets that he is "so honored to even be included in the nominees. . . . Thank you guys so much. Keep voting."

And Jerrod is re-tweeting those who are voting for him, adding a quick personal note of thanks.

Brantley has his peeps hawking for him: "BG Nation. . . . This is your daily reminder to VOTE for Brantley Gilbert."

But it's Justin Moore who had the most interesting pitch.

"Did I mention," he tweeted, "that everyday [sic] you don't vote for me for new artist at you will uncontrollably crap your pants?"

Voting ends at noon Jan. 30.
