Julio Iglesias, Jr. Wins Gone Country

Julio Iglesias, Jr. emerged as the winner of CMT’S reality series Gone Country in the show’s final episode, March 7.

Gone Country, hosted by John Rich, assembled seven stars from outside country music—R&B singer Bobby Brown, rocker Dee Snider, pop singer Carnie Wilson, actress Maureen McCormick, American Idol finalist Diana DeGarmo, R&B star Sisqo and Spanish heartthrob Iglesias, Jr.—to see which artist could best adapt to the country lifestyle. Each star co-wrote a song with top Music Row writers and performed it on the show’s last episode. Julio’s song, “The Way I Want You,” was judged the winner by John Rich and Alabama’s Randy Owen. The single, produced by John, has been sent to country radio.
