Josh Brolin has been tapped to play the late George Jones in a new biopic, tenatively called No Show Jones.

The actor revealed his role in the upcoming film during an appearance on TBS’ Conan. In addition, Josh said actress Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty) will play George’s ex-wife Tammy Wynette.

The film—which is being written by Straight Outta Compton Oscar nominee Alan Wenkus—is said to be an “honest” depiction of George’s well-documented struggles and triumphs as one of the most legendary country stars of all time.

On Conan, Josh said he could relate to the often-troubled artist since he was arrested on New Year’s Day 2013 for public intoxication.

“I have a bit of a past,” he admitted. “When they were trying to figure out who might be best able to best play George Jones, they thought, ‘What about Brolin? Who’s been to jail in the last 10 years? Let’s pick Brolin!’”

No release date for the film has been set.
