Join George in Red Shirt Fridays

George Strait is asking his fans to wear red on Friday, and not just because it's Christmas Eve. Through the website redshirtfridays.org, George is urging fans to go red not only on Dec. 24 but every Friday to support U.S. troops at home and overseas. "Starting this Friday, we are we are going to wear red shirts to every Friday tour date and we encourage fans to do the same," says George, who served four years in the Army in the 1970s. "I want to see a building full of red shirts if possible."

During this holiday season, the wearing of red is especially meaningful. "The holidays are a time to be with family and friends and to be thankful, and I can't think of a better gift to the men and women serving our country than to show them how much we appreciate them and are thinking about them," George said in a prepared statement.
