JOHNNY CASH HONORED

In a rare public appearance, Johnny Cash was honored with the National Medial of Arts by President George W. Bush.

The ceremony was held at Constitution Hall, and other celebrities honored with National Medals of Arts and National Humanities Medals included Kirk Douglas and cellist Yo-Yo Ma. Cash has a rare nerve disease that makes him easily susceptible to pneumonia, which makes winters in Nashville dangerous for him.
