John Rich Thrives on The Apprentice

Judging from the season opener (March 6), John Rich might do pretty well on this season of Celebrity Apprentice.

John determined early on that he might be the underdog in a group that includes baseball great Jose Canseco, La Toya Jackson and other celebs from all fields.

“I love it when I see the look in somebody’s eye that goes, ‘Nice cowboy hat, Dingaling!’ “John told the camera. “Don’t underestimate the country boys.”

John instead raised good money, worked the crowd and came up with some big ideas for the first pizza-selling challenge for the competition.

Oh, and the show was only 42 minutes old when we first get to hear John singing Big & Rich signature hit “Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy).”

Project manager and original Survivor winner Richard Hatch was impressed: “John Rich brought in money like you couldn’t believe.”

John’s battling to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a favorite charity among country singers.

As John declared in last night's episode, “Country done come to town, brother!”
