Former Celebrity Apprentice winner John Rich sees big potential in Eric Church.

During a morning interview with radio host Billy Greenwood on Nashville radio station WSIX on Tuesday (May 8), John  mentioned that he thinks country-rocker Eric would be a perfect candidate to take on Celebrity Apprentice judge Donald Trump, and offered Eric the chance to be part of an upcoming season of Celebrity Apprentice. "I would like to just extend an invitation that if [Eric] wants to meet Donald Trump and go on Celebrity Apprentice, I will make that happen for you, Eric," John announced. "We need to go do that show and raise some money for your charity."

John also made reference to Eric's now well-known interview with Rolling Stone magazine, in which Eric's comments regarding television musical competitions upset artist (and former Nashville Star contestant) Miranda Lambert; Eric later issued an apology for his comments.

"I heard his apology," said John. "I think he just got to talkin’ too fast probably and didn’t realize, ‘Uh-oh, I didn’t remember all these great singers that have come from some of these shows.' I don’t think he was trying to be that malicious about it or anything," John said, before continuing with his offer for Celebrity Apprentice. "But I do think he’d be good on [Celebrity] Apprentice. The guy’s been working his tail off for however many years on the road and building his audience, and he’s a smart, tough guy. Give me a call, brother."
