John Rich to Judge and Mentor Nashville Star

John Rich of the duo Big & Rich has been named the first judge/mentor for the new season of Nashville Star, premiering June 9 on NBC-TV at 9:30 p.m. ET.

John will also write and produce the debut single for the winning Nashville Star contestant. His label, Warner Bros. Records, will support the artist development, recording and release of songs from this season’s winner and other show contestants. Nashville Star is moving from the USA Network to NBC-TV for the sixth season of competition, with Billy Ray Cyrus as host. For the first time in the series’ history, the talent hopefuls will include duets and singing trios. Auditions for the new season have begun and will culminate in Nashville, March 21.
