JOHN MICHAEL WRAPS DUI CASE

John Michael Montgomery has reached a plea agreement with prosecutors over his drunken driving arrest this past February.

John Michael was arrested after leaving a Lexington, Ky., bar and charged with DUI, having a concealed weapon and carrying a prescription drug in an improper container. The singer entered an Alford plea, meaning that he does not admit guilt but acknowledges that there is enough evidence to convict him. “He decided not to go through with this high-profile trial and go ahead and just resolve it,” said one of John Michael’s attorneys. John Michael will have to pay court costs and fines and complete an alcohol education program, after which his driver’s license will be reinstated. The other charges were dropped as part of the plea arrangement.
