JOHN MICHAEL FACES TRIAL

John Michael Montgomery may have to face a trial on drunk driving charges, the result of an arrest in Lexington, Ky., on Feb. 18.

The Herald-Leader newspaper in Lexington reports that prosecutors believe they have enough evidence to go to trial on the charges. John Michael was arrested Feb. 18 shortly after leaving the Austin City Saloon in Lexington, a place where he had performed before becoming a recording star. Police reports had John Michael driving erratically, hitting a curb and crossing the center line. Officers also said that he failed a field sobriety test. On June 12, prosecutors will ask the district judge to schedule a trial, which could take place within two months.
