Joey+Rory’s Rory Feek Eulogizes Joey in Public Service

Hometown service in Alexandria, Ind. includes Joey's parents and special guests.

Joey+Rory’s Rory Feek returned to Alexandria, Ind., to help his wife’s hometown celebrate her life in a public service held on Sunday, March 13.

In a video from Indiana’s Herald Bulletin, Rory appeared clad in his customary overalls and an Alexandria-Monroe High School letterman’s jacket with Joey’s name embroidered on the chest as he addressed the packed gymnasium. He spoke emotionally of his wife and their relationship. He also thanked those who had been by their side through Joey’s illness.

Also speaking at the service were family friend and gospel icon Bill Gaither, Joey's sister Jody, and Joey's parents, June and Jack (who are no longer married), spoke and performed "Just a Closer Walk With Thee."

Joey Martin Feek passed away March 4 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
