Joe Nichols in Rehab

Joe Nichols has checked himself into a treatment program for substance abuse.

“As Joe has alluded to in interviews over the past year, he has struggled with the issue of substance abuse," said a statement from Joe’s management company. "In order to become a healthier person and deal with long-standing issues, he has entered into a rehabilitation program for consultation and treatment." The company didn’t say precisely when Joe entered the program, but a planned Oct. 13 concert in Waco, Texas, was canceled two days beforehand. “With each generation in my family, the dysfunction, the substance abuse problems, got worse,” Joe told Country Weekly in an interview this summer. “I felt that I was taking my generation’s role. I was gonna do the same thing. I still am trying to stop that cycle and reverse it.”
