Joe Nichols Gets the Strait Role
Joe Nichols has been selected to play the lead role in the Broadway stage version of the hit George Strait movie, Pure Country.
Joe will take on the lead character of burned-out country singer Dusty Wyatt Chandler, played by George in the film. Joe will head to New York in late October to begin rehearsals, with the show opening early next year. "It feels pretty amazing," Joe tells CMT Insider about assuming George's role. "He's been a hero of mine since I was a little kid so to come along behind him, on Broadway, and do something that people dream their whole lives of doing is pretty amazing."
