An obviously emotional and worn out Jo Dee Messina has reported that her mother has been hospitalized three months after having open heart surgery.

Jo Dee addressed her friends and family on Facebook, writing the following:

“My mother was admitted to the ICU for a few infections with there even being concern about where they took the trach out. It was red and oozing. At 2am I decided my mother didn’t realize I was there so I came home to try to sleep. I got about 5 hours of rest. I was going to take a break today. I told myself that today was for recouping. I took the boys to the park this morning. When they went down for a nap I sat on the front porch and finally cried. I am not this strong. My body, emotions, every bit of me is exhausted. When my mother has been confused, I have tried to be her hope. Pushing, coaching, inspiring. I never thought at any point she would be where she is now. I am realizing that SHE has to have the hope and the will. I can’t ‘will’ her better.”

Just last month Jo Dee was celebrating the success of her Kickstarter campaign, which helped her raise $100,000, with the help of fans and friends, to record a new album.

Our thoughts are with Jo Dee and her family.
