Jo Dee Messina Runs and Rocks

Jo Dee runs half marathon, then plays concert.

Jo Dee Messina got the workout of a lifetime, Sunday (Nov. 11) in San Antonio, when she ran a half marathon—and played a concert immediately following the conclusion of the Rock 'n' Roll San Antonio Marathon & 1/2 Marathon. Jo Dee, an active long-distance runner, completed the half marathon in 2 hours and 36 minutes. Jo Dee didn't miss a beat, as she then performed "I'm Alright," "Bye-Bye" and other hits for 25,000 runners and their families at the finish line. The race helped benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure breast cancer charity.

"As far as the run," Jo Dee said in a release about the event, "I was a bit nervous at first. I wanted to run and still have energy for the show. I made it through both. It was an amazing experience and I'm glad I did it." Way to go, Jo Dee!
