Singer/songwriter Jewel is set to portray country entertainer (and wife of Johnny Cash) June Carter Cash in an upcoming Lifetime Movie Original with the working title The June Carter Cash Story. Big Love's Matt Ross is set to portray the Man in Black.

The film traces June's journey from her Virginia childhood to her oftentimes turbulent yet lasting marriage to Johnny Cash. The film will also touch on June's first two marriages and her life with her daughters and son, John Carter Cash, the only child of June and Johnny.

The movie is based on John Carter Cash's 2007 book, Anchored in Love: An Intimate Portrait of June Carter Cash. John Carter will also serve as executive producer on the project.

The June Carter Cash Story is slated for release later this year, according to a press release.
