Jewel Hints at “Raw” Album in the Works

Singer/songwriter working on new project.

Did you know that singer/songwriter Jewel's 1995 album, Pieces of You, is one of the highest-selling albums by a solo female artist of all time in any genre? At 12 times platinum, it's also one of the best-selling debut records ever.

Well, get ready, because she may be thinking in a similar vein for her upcoming album, the country follow-up to 2010’s Sweet and Wild.

“I’m looking at this record as a sort of bookend to my first record, Pieces of You,” she told Country Weekly recently. “It’s gonna be a pretty raw album. Some of it will be done live.” There's no official word, and these things tend to change, but Jewel was hoping to have it ready by summer 2014.

In the meantime, you can catch Jewel as a judge on the new season of ABC's a cappella singing show, The Sing-Off, which premieres Dec. 9.
