Jerrod Niemann, Jake Owen, Lauren Alaina and Others Head to Summer Camp

It's a different kind of camp with very special campers. And the counselors? Well, they're the best in the biz!

It's the ACM Lifting Lives Music Camp for individuals with Williams syndrome—a genetic condition that causes mental and developmental problems. And this year's counselors include Jerrod Niemann, Jake Owen, Lauren Alaina, Love and Theft and hit songwriter Dallas Davidson.

The weeklong camp, held in Nashville, allows campers to participate in songwriting workshops, recording sessions and other music-related activities, and the week wraps with the participants joining Jerrod Niemann onstage at the Grand Ole Opry for a special performance.

Previous volunteers at the music camp include Carrie Underwood, Chris Young, Little Big Town, Big & Rich, Gary Allan, LeAnn Rimes, Jana Kramer, Eddie Montgomery and Darius Rucker. At the 2011 ACM Awards show, Darius and campers gave an emotional performance of the Chris Young and Brett James song "Music From the Heart," written specially for ACM Lifting Lives Music Camp.
