Jennifer Nettles Is Part of New TV Contest

"I think the element of performance with our partners on this show makes it different," Jennifer says.

Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland is one of four celebrities who will be a part of a brand-new TV singing contest—but Duets has one major difference.

Jennifer, Kelly Clarkson, Lionel Richie and Robin Thicke won't just be judging or mentoring new talents—the stars will be singing with them.

The four stars will scour the country looking for two duet partners each, and there will be performances each week until one duet eventually wins—and the amateur on that duet will get a contract with Hollywood Records.

"I think the element of performance with our partners on this show makes it different. To be able to watch the arc of a beginning of a career is super-thrilling. Really thrilling," Jennifer says on an ABC promo. "I'm gonna have fun with it. That's my plan."

Unlike other singing contests—including Fox's American Idol and NBC's The VoiceDuets will air during the summer, starting this summer. No exact airdate has been set yet.
