Jennifer Nettles Calls Christmas Taping “Fantasy Camp”

She's back for second year of CMA Country Christmas.

It's a busy week for Jennifer Nettles; not only is she performing on the Country Music Association Awards with her Sugarland partner Kristian Bush on Wednesday (Nov. 9), but she'll also will return for a second year to host the CMA Country Christmas taping at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Thursday (Nov. 10).

This year’s lineup includes Rascal Flatts, Faith Hill, Vince Gill, Amy Grant, Brad Paisley, Martina McBride, Lauren Alaina, Sugarland, Little Big Town, Keith Urban, Kellie Pickler, Darius Rucker, Scotty McCreery and Brian Setzer. “This time around I think there is a little less of the unknown, since last year was the first time I did it,” Jennifer says of her hosting duties. “[Last year] I was a little nervous, thinking, ‘How is this hosting gig going to go?’ and ‘What is the script going to be?’”

This singer, songwriter and host loves the creative variety that a Christmas show affords. “You can relax,” she tells CountryWeekly.com. “You can have all kinds of performances, wild and outlandish and cheesy and whatever you want, but it’s all fair game.

“I just went today to do the [choreography] rehearsal for the opening number,” Jennifer says. “It’s like fantasy camp for me. I love dancing that way and I love being taught choreography, so I was eating it up. I feel like I’m in Fame or something.”

CMA Country Christmas airs Dec. 1 on ABC.
