Jason, Brad, Blake and Taylor Lead CMA Nods

Taylor takes on the boys in Entertainer category.

Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton and Taylor Swift scored five nominations apiece for the 45th Annual Country Music Association Awards, which will be held Nov. 9 in Nashville at the Bridgestone Arena.

Taylor Swift is up against the boys as the contends for the Country Music Association's top award at this year’s award show. She is up against Jason Aldean, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley and Blake Shelton for the Entertainer of the Year award.

Jason Aldean is up for the coveted Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Single of the Year for "Don't You Wanna Stay" featuring Kelly Clarkson, Album of the Year for My Kinda Party and Musical Event of the Year for "Don't You Wanna Stay."

Blake got his first nomination in the Entertainer of the Year category, in addition to nods for Male Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year for All About Tonight, Single of the Year ("Honeybee"), and Music Video of the Year ("Honeybee").

Taylor Swift, another contender for the Entertainer of the Year trophy, also nabbed nominations for Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year for Speak Now, Song of the Year ("Mean") and Music Video of the Year ("Mean").

Brad Paisley is set to vie again for the Entertainer of the Year award (which he won in 2010), and is up for Male Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year for This is Country Music. He's also nominated for Musical Event of the Year for "Old Alabama," featuring Alabama and for Music Video of the Year for "Old Alabama."

Newcomers The Band Perry received four nods for New Artist of the Year, Single of the Year ("If I Die Young"), Vocal Group of the Year and Music Video of the Year ("If I Die Young"). Kimberly Perry also got a songwriting noomination for Song of the Year for penning "If I Die Young."

Meanwhile, Miranda Lambert will defend her Female vocalist of the year trophy from Sara Evans, Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride and Taylor Swift.

Noticably absent from the nominations lineup is George Strait. This marks only the third time since 1984 that the legendary singer has not been nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year.
