Jason Aldean On National TV, but He Ain’t No Blake

“It’s like, you know, on a big stage, not just playing at the Sweet Potato Festival or whatever,” he says.

Yes, Jason Aldean will be on a national TV show Monday night (July 23), and yes, it's about discovering new talent.

But he ain't no Blake Shelton on no NBC's The Voice!

"I think everybody, when they read that we're a part of this show, thinks that I'm like Blake and I'm a judge on this show or something, and it’s not that at all," Jason told reporters recently.

Instead, Jason and artists in other genres on E's Opening Act will comb YouTube and other places to find unknown talent to be, well, their opening acts. Jason's episode—which also has Dierks Bentley and Luke Bryan on it—airs Monday night (July 23).

And Jason loves it.

"I think it's really cool to give a young artist like that, especially a young artist that's a teenager or something, the chance to come out and experience what it's like, you know, on a big stage, not just playing at the Sweet Potato Festival or whatever."

No word on who Jason picks, other than she's a female.
