Jason Aldean’s Platinum Party

Jason Aldean celebrated the platinum-selling success of his album, Wide Open, at an industry party at Nashville restaurant Sambuca, Jan. 19.

The album, which has been certified for sales in excess of one million copies, featured the No. 1 singles “She’s Country” and “Big Green Tractor.” Jason told reporters before the party that he always tries to find great songs, regardless of who has written them. “When we start the process, we never have a particular type of song in mind,” Jason explained. “For some reason, it always comes together.” Jason added that he often tests songs by popping them in his car's CD player and listening as he’s driving around. “If I find myself getting tired of a song after three or four plays, that’s usually one we'll pass on,” he noted. Jason also said that the production for his 2010 shows has been amped up a bit. “I just saw the stage and it's killer,” he smiled. “Visually, it's really cool, but you don't get lost in the production.” During the party, video congratulations from Carrie Underwood, Kix Brooks of Brooks & Dunn, Dierks Bentley, Lady Antebellum and other stars were shown on TV monitors.
