Jana Kramer's birthday was on Dec. 2, and instead of going out to celebrate, the singer/actress had the terrible misfortune of being hospitalized on her special day. According to a series of updates on Jana's Twitter page, the "Why Ya Wanna" singer fell ill before her Dec. 1 performance in West Palm Beach, Fla.

"My how the day has changed. I am now sick with 101 fever and getting ready for this show is a challenge," she tweeted. She was eventually forced to cut her set short when the sickness interfered with her singing voice.

Jana's condition was evidently severe enough that she was taken to the hospital for treatment. Joining her at bedside were beau Brantley Gilbert and her manager, who did their best to lighten her spirits. Fans also chimed in on Twitter with birthday and well wishes. Jana made sure to keep everyone updated on her progress.

"Alright so here's the update! I'm okay," she tweeted on Dec. 1. "I'm on morphine and lots of liquid and other stuff. ‪#dehydration‬ ‪#flu‬ ‪#etc‬ ! Thanks for the love!"

She has since been released, but had to cancel her Dec. 2 show in Tampa while she recuperated. "Terribly sorry I'm missin the show tonight in Tampa," read her online update. "I got out of the hospital this morning & still really sick. I will make it up to y'all."

Jana seems to be on the mend, however. Earlier today, she updated her Facebook page to say she was feeling "almost 100 percent" and that she was playing Fremont Street in Vegas. She also has shows lined up for Dec. 7 in Jay, Fla., and Dec. 8 in Brownsville, Texas.
