James House Co-stars in New Video

Bows to unlikely lead in “Every Time It Rains.”

Country stars often welcome fellow country stars, professional athletes and even Hollywood celebrities to star in their music videos. But James House was thinking much bigger when he shot the video for “Every Time It Rains,” the debut single from Broken Glass Twisted Steel. In fact, he thought as big as a house.

“We shot it at Mary Beth Felts’ house,” he tells Country Weekly, explaining that Mary Beth is a Nashville makeup artist. “She has this beautiful 1930s house in Bellevue and I’ve known her for years. So we asked her if we could use the house. We had an artist come in named Marian Grace and she’s the girl I’m singing to. She’s the ghost, just kind of haunting my thoughts and dreams as I walk around the house singing,” he says, laughing. “The house is the star.”

The video debuted this month and James’ new album, which also features covers of tunes he penned for Martina McBride, Diamond Rio and Dwight Yoakam, is available now.
