Jake Top Golf Competitors: Vince & Darius

Jake Owen loves a good game of golf, and says he believes he can compete with the best of the other country music celebrity golfers out there.

During a recent interview with Country Weekly, Jake was quick to name names of which country stars he would like to compete with on a fairway. "It would be Darius Rucker and Vince Gill at the same time," he tells Country Weekly. "Those are the two guys that keep making these lists of best golfers, and yet, they have not included me in them. I hate to tell them, but I think there’s a chance I might take them down,” he says.

So would the singer, who won his first golf tournament at age 15, like to hold something similar to Vince's The Vinny Pro-Celebrity-Junior Invitational, or Darius Rucker's own Hootie and the Blowfish Monday After the Masters Celebrity Pro-Am Golf Tournament ?  “Oh, yeah, I would have my own tournament," says Jake.

The other sport that Jake is very familiar with is bullriding, having performed several concerts for the Professional Championship Bullriders.  Jake might sing about an eight second ride, but when asked if he would ever try a real eight second ride, Jake laughs, “Naw. I’ve thought about it, but about when the time comes to get on the bull, is when I would say no to it. I’ll let those boys do it, just like they probably wouldn’t get onstage and sing.”
