Jake Owen: "Nothing's Really Changed" After Exchanging Vows

Jake recalls knowing he would marry model Lacey Buchanan the day he met her.

Jake Owen married model Lacey Buchanan just over one month ago during a sunrise beachside ceremony in Jake's hometown of Vero Beach, Fla., but the “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” singer says that his life hasn't drastically changed since exchanging vows. “I think the greatest thing thing is that since we were dating, she was like, 'I don't want to change you,' which is why I married her,” Jake told reporters before taking the stage at CMA Music Festival on Friday (June 8). “Nothing's really changed. I've learned to say 'we' a lot more than 'I.' This is our house, not my house, and we picked this out, I didn't pick this out—things like that. Other than that, it's pretty much the same thing.”

Lacey has joined her husband on the road while Jake is on tour with Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw as part of the Brothers of the Sun Tour, which kicked off on June 2. Jake says his wife seems to be adjusting well to life on the road. “She's never really complained,” says Jake. “We've been married for a month, but there's nothing about being married that has made me feel any different than I did when we first met. My mom always said, 'When you know, you know.' and I remember telling my friends the day that I met her, 'I'm going to marry this girl, it's just going to happen,' and nothing's changed.”
