Jake Owen Headed for the Gridiron

College football season is all but finished, save for the highly anticipated BCS bragging-rights match-ups between the league's best teams.

Jake Owen will get a little taste of the action when he kicks off 2013 with a halftime performance at the Discover Orange Bowl Jan. 1 at Miami's Sun Life Stadium. But it might be tricky for Jake to stay impartial at this particular game, between the No. 12-ranked Florida State Seminoles and the No. 15-ranked Northern Illinois Huskies: Florida native Jake is a Florida State alum and devoted Seminoles fan.

Find out who comes out on top when the Discover Orange Bowl airs live on ESPN Tuesday, Jan. 1, at 7:30 p.m. CT.

Jake also recently scored a touchdown of his own when he played Vero Beach, Fla., for the final date of CMT on Tour Jake Owen: The Summer Never Ends. The hometown show raised $125,000 for children's charities such as St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, to be distributed through the Jake Owen Foundation.

After he gets his football fix, Jake will join up with Jason Aldean's Night Train Tour in 2013.
