Jake Owen Arrested in Florida

Provides running commentary via Twitter.

Blame it on Cinco de Mayo or the supermoon, but Jake Owen was apparently arrested late Saturday night (May 5) in his hometown of Vero Beach, Fla.

While it's unclear what he was arrested for, Jake did a nice job of giving his Twitter followers the lowdown. First came this tweet, "I just got arrested in my own hometown," followed by, "I was wearing an old man mask and the sheriff decided to rip me out of Steak And Shake and embarrass me in front of my family. Classic."

The first post included a photo of Jake in white shorts with his hands cuffed behind his back.

"You give a guy a gun and a badge and he thinks he's John Wayne," Jake later added. "Thanks Indian River County Sheriffs Office. Unreal."

Finally came this tweet: “I’m calling it a night. My mom cried. My Dad was embarrassed. I lived out another day. Happy Cinco De Mayo.”

While those tweets have been removed from his timeline, Jake apparently had a change of heart Sunday morning, writing, "Y'all I apologize. The IRC Sheriff was doing their job. I love hometown. I had too good of a time on Cinco de Mayo."
