Hunger Games Soundtrack Projected to Finish No. 1

Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert have songs on The Hunger Games: Songs From District 12 and Beyond.

This news should make Taylor Swift feel safe and sound.

The Hunger Games soundtrack likely will be No. 1 on next week's album sales chart, industry sources tell billboard.com.

The soundtrack album came out Tuesday (March 20) and by the end of the next day, experts said The Hunger Games: Songs From District 12 and Beyond would sell more than 150,000 copies in its first week.

If so, that would make the album the first movie soundtrack to top the album sales chart since Michael Jackson's This Is It three years ago.

Taylor Swift and folk duo The Civil Wars contributed the Hunger Games album's first single, "Safe & Sound," and Taylor has another track as well. Miranda Lambert's girl-power trio Pistol Annies also has a song on the soundtrack.

The Hunger Games movie opens Friday (March 23) and ticket sales are expected to be record breaking.
