Beautiful Jo Dee Messina knows it takes hard work to stay fit and beautiful.

In an interview with the Associated Press, she goes into more detail about how she stays in shape.

Jo Dee starts out the first two hours of her day with an hour of cardio training and an hour using weights, with a lot of stretching exercises thrown in.

Last year, she was working out twice a day -- trying to get into shape before shooting a video and some other projects -- but now a once-a-day workout suits her fine.

Jo Dee also says that she's gotten smarter about her diet. She recounts a story where she had cut carbohydrates from her diet and was also running about four miles a day. She ended up "exhausted and depleted," so she's back on carbos -- but in moderation.
