How Brantley Gilbert Gets Brass Knuckles Through Airport Security

The secret: Brantley puts his heavy metal in his checked luggage.

By now, you know you never see Brantley Gilbert without his brass knuckles and his chain on his pants.

Have you ever wondered how Brantley—who has to fly a lot for work—gets all that heavy metal through airport security?

Secret revealed: Brantley tells ABC News Radio that he throws all that stuff into the luggage he checks when he first gets into the airport.

“Never have any problems with it,” Brantley says.

Still, checked bags get screened, too. How do scanners miss brass knuckles? Brantley says he disguises them.

“I got a pair of brass knuckles that has a knob on it, like, you can use it for a belt buckle, and I hook it to a belt, and that's how I get my brass knuckles everywhere,” he says.

Clever. Hmmm . . . Wonder if TSA agents ever read CountryWeekly.com.
