More bad news for Chris Young, who injured himself Thursday night (June 5) after his fan club party. As previously reported, Chris returned home after the festivities and was preparing dinner for himself when he cut himself with a sharp knife. He was taken to an area hospital and treated, which resulted in the cancelation of a four-hour autograph session as part of CMA Music Festival.

It has now been reported that Chris underwent surgery Friday (June 6) to repair damaged tendons from the accident and has had to cancel his Music Fest performance Saturday (June 7) at Nashville’s LP Field. Chris has been released from the hospital and is expected to fully heal and return to playing guitar after some rehabilitation.

It’s been a challenging 12 months for Chris. Last August, Chris was rushed to a Denver hospital after going into septic shock when a small cut on his leg developed a bacterial infection.

Chris has a few more injuries to go before he can compare scars with Trace Adkins and Craig Morgan, of course, but we hope he’s injury free for the time being and feeling better soon.
