Hayden Panettiere Is Joining Cast of New TV Show Nashville

She'll play a teen country sensation who is forced to team up with a veteran superstar.

Have you heard about this new nighttime soap opera Nashville that ABC is making? Think Dallas with some extra twang.

And the cast has some star power: 22-year-old Hayden Panettiere—the cheerleader on NBC's Heroes—confirms she'll play one of the leads.

"I can't express how humbled and thrilled I am to be a part of this! Ahhhhh!!!" Hayden tweeted early Thursday morning (March 1).

Trade publications say Hayden will play a teen country sensation. And here comes the drama—her record label is forcing its country veteran superstar to team up with Hayden's character, Juliette Barnes.

The show has been written by the same woman who wrote the movie Thelma & Louise, one Callie Khouri.

No word on when Nashville might actually air, but ABC is committed to at least showing the pilot.
