David Nail has a new single out, "Whatever She's Got," but it's whatever he's got on top of his head that seems to be getting most of the attention right now.

Have you seen David's latest hairstyle? It's, uh, well, shaved on the sides and longer up top, and quite unique. And fans have been weighing in, positively and negatively, in droves.

"Everybody either loves it or hates it. There's nobody in between," he tells ABC News Radio.

So how did this unique hairstyle occur?

"It was kind of one of those spur of the moments," he said.

"I just said, 'I want something easy, something simple.' I've always been jealous of people that just kind of were able to wake up and throw it back and not have worry about it," he said.

"But I tell you what, man, if I'd have known how much attention it would have got, I would have done it years ago when I had a lot more, when the hairline was a lot closer to my eyebrows."

Wouldn't we all?
