Country Music Hall of Fame entertainer Glen Campbell has been courageously battling Alzheimer’s disease since being diagnosed with the illness in early 2011. Sadly, his health has experienced a setback as the family has moved Glen into a care facility.

Glen’s publicist confirmed the news in an e-mail to Country Weekly. “Yes, it is true that Glen has been checked into an Alzheimer’s facility," he noted. More will be known about Glen’s condition within the week.

Glen’s wife, Kim, chronicled the singer’s battle with the disease and its effect on the family in a Country Weekly cover story last summer. She revealed that the family was hoping for the best and was taking care of Glen as well as they could.

This latest news comes as a documentary film about Glen’s final tour, Glen Campbell . . . I’ll Be Me, is set to make its world premiere at the Nashville Film Festival, Friday night, April 18.
