Give It Up for Luke Bryan, Horse Rescuer

A horse owner outside Nashville is crediting Luke Bryan with saving her 15-year-old appaloosa, Nashville TV station WSMV reports.

The horse, Misty, fell into a river after one of its banks gave way, says owner Janet McCormick.

Janet found out because her neighbor Luke Bryan and a buddy happened to be boating in that river. Luke alerted authorities when he saw the horse with just her head above water, according to the report. That kicked off a rescue operation, and it took a few hours and a dozen or so people to get the horse out of the river.

Janet reports that the horse seemed perfectly fine by the next day.

"You can't thank anybody enough for taking an interest and being so helpful and genuine," she said. "And it's a blessing to have good neighbors."
